Gathering photos from both sides

A shaadi is shot on a hundred phones. The trick is to make one cousin the collector for each function, with a deadline of a week after the wedding. Ask for originals, not WhatsApp forwards, so faces stay sharp on a big TV. iPhone photos and MOV videos work as they are.

Add the photographer’s teaser and any edits they share early, then fill the gaps with the candid moments only family has: Dadi asleep at the sangeet, the baraat stuck at a traffic light.

How it compares with a folder, WhatsApp and the album

A shared drive folder keeps full-quality files, which is exactly what you want for safekeeping. But Nani is not going to find the sangeet video in a folder of 900 files called IMG_4471. The family WhatsApp group is where everyone already is, but forwards arrive compressed and get buried under good-morning messages within a day.

One honest catch. A show stays online for 3 months, then the link stops working and its photos and videos are deleted, unless you renew before it ends. It is the album you watch together, not cold storage. Keep your originals in that drive folder.

Sharing it with both families

Set up profiles on the “Who’s watching?” screen for the bride’s side, the groom’s side, the friends and Nani. One private link goes to both family groups on WhatsApp, and if the early episodes are ready before the big day, the QR code can go up on a screen at the reception.

It doesn’t need to be finished to be shared. Publish after the haldi, add the sangeet the next morning, and keep going till the reception. Guests see every update on the same link.

Premium also lets you set a custom link like bingeus.com/s/aarav-and-meera and removes the BingeUs badge. A custom link is easier to guess, so add a password if the guest list runs to four figures.
